Community Affiliations Linda has served on the NAMI McHenry County Board which offers a voice for the mentally ill. The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in McHenry County is an active organization providing services and information for individuals and families of those with mental illness. For more than two decades NAMI has been a leading grassroots organization, promoting research and improved services for persons who suffer from serious brain disorders, increasing public awareness through community education and offering support to families and friends whose lives are affected by mental illness. NAMI offers hope. For more information, check out NAMI on the link page. Linda was recently invited to serve on a Counseling Programs Advisory Board for Argosy University. It has a local site in Schaumburg, Illinois. Argosy provides a variety of Graduate programs and is well known for its Counseling and Psychology studies. Linda is an active member in the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce having served on the Crystal Lake Foundation, President’s Council, Expo, Mentoring, and Posse, and Picnic Committees. She currently serves as an Ambassador and on the Board of Directors. Kiwanis International is a Club that serves the Children of the World. Linda proudly served as President for 2008 for the Crystal Lake Chapter of KIWANIS. It meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at the Colonial Cafe on Rt. 14. Feel free to come and introduce yourself to us. We want the best for children locally and across the world! Our community has an active Key Club and annual Little Miss Peanut contest. Linda served the past 4 years as a Director for "Operation Click", a non profit program designed to encourage Crystal Lake High School students to use their seatbelts. Students that are involved in the program become eligible to win a car. A presentation is made in Spring to recognize those involved. This is an awesome program for High School Students. Please check out the link page for information. Linda is a lifetime member for Sherman Hospital Auxiliary, volunteering for more than 11 years. Linda worked at the Village Resale Shop and at Sherman's Elgin and CL sites. Linda endorses the "I Shop Çrystal Lake" campaign. She has lived in the community for 35 years. "Crystal Lake is a great place to live, shop, and work. We are so fortunate to have a community filled with wonderful people and great opportunities. Welcome¡ Linda served on the Faith in Action Coalition Board designed to provide wonderful free service for individuals 62 years of age and older. Assistance with household chores, transportation, and other household needs are offered to help individuals stay independent and in their own homes. Volunteers are always appreciated. |
